The Copper Lung

Our Copper Lung is made entirely of recycled copper and it’s available for purchase in a flat or bowl shape. Fascinated by the signs of time on copper roofs, we decided to oxidize our pieces. 

Inspired by old flora illustrations, we have interpreted the Nordic plant 'Lungelav/The Lung Plant'. The plant has a great resemblance to human lungs alveoli, hence the name. In ancient times, it was considered to be a healing plant for lung diseases.

Due to forestry as well as air pollution, the beautiful plant has disappeared from most forests. Use this piece on a table as a tray or as a wall piece.
